  • How can I treat a split nail bed on my toe?

I have a podatrist appointment next week. My nail bed is split halfway through. How can I treat this. I refuse to use glue. ThanksHow can I treat a split nail bed on my toe?
well I was gonna recommend nail glue, but since you don't want to go that route, consider wrapping a good cloth medical grade bandage tape around the toe, it will keep the nail from splitting further and minimize discomfort, of course you won't want to be wearing sandals, but it will do the job.How can I treat a split nail bed on my toe?
Try to let it heal in a natural way, or maybe you can seek a medical advise if it causes you any discomfort.
go to a very good manucurist that you can trust ,she or he can help you

What can be done about my kittens split nail?

One of my kittens front paws has a split nail. It doesn't seem to be hurting him but I'm afraid to cut it down because it appears to be broken right down to past the quick. It looked like there was a little bit of litter stuck in there, and I want to stop that from happening. Anyone know how to fix this? What can be done about my kittens split nail?
If you take the kitten to the vet he can use a bit of medical glue to keep it from splitting more, than you just have to wait until its grown out a bit more so you can cut it. Because you're right, if you cut it now it may cause the split to become bigger and move down into the quick...then the nail would probably start bleeding. And believe me, the bleeding from a nail is hard to stop because the quick it the vein that runs into each nail. If you have an item called KwikStop..its a yellow powder you find at the pet store that you can dab onto the nail where its bleeding and it stops it almost instantly...its something good to have on hand if you plan to ct your cats nails at home. (But KwikStop is only used for stopping bleeding pet NAILS. It's also got a few different names so I would ask around). Good luck! What can be done about my kittens split nail?
Cat's nails split all the time, but if it's split way down you do have to be very careful. There is a point in the nail where if you cut beyond it the nail will begin to bleed and it's really bad as it means you have hit a vein. As most people have alley cats they don't have groomers, I have 2 purebreds, so I have groomers as I can't deal with all the fur and knots. So, I suggest going to the vet, even though it's a small thing. You don't want kitty to have an infected toenail.

After this I would keep cutting the cat's nails on a schedule. The vet can show you how far down you can cut and it won't hurt the cat. Just be sure to wear a suit of armor when you do it. From one who knows.

How do I repair a split nail?

I split my nail while playing finger-style guitar. It's split all the way up the nail but not all the way through. There's no separation on the top of the nail. It's still intact but it's growing split and I can see a little line running the length of the nail. The only separation is when it gets to the white part of the nail so I've been keeping it trimmed back as a stopgap measure but I'd like a way to repair it if anyone knows any.How do I repair a split nail?
use clear nail polish on the nail

How do you treat split nails so it doesnt continue to split down your nail?

I have a split in my right thumb nail. I don't know how it happened, but I had just removed artificial nails about a week or two before I noticed it was split. It has continued to split and I am getting worried. How do you treat split nails so it doesnt continue to split down your nail?
it may burn a few minutes (depending on if its split into your nail bed or not)...but try a little nail glue.

It will stabalize the nail. Then you can go get some strengthening polish or something of that sort to keep on them for a while.

Taking artificial nails off makes your nail very thin and prone to breakage....the next time put on a hardner after taking off the thick nails (2 coats) then some polish. How do you treat split nails so it doesnt continue to split down your nail?
cut and file it down because it will continue to split. You just removed artifical nails so your nails are fragile and thin. Just keep it trim down for a while until they harded up.
I have used a product 'Neutrogena Instant Nail Enhancer'.

it has provided realy good results in keeping my nails from peeling, chipping and breaking. It may help with continued use to restore your nails. I'm on my third tube and love it.

    Split nail?

So my dog had seemed to be in pain and I couldnt figure out why, so I took him to the vet and they gave him a shot of antibiotic and some other kind of steroid thing and gave us pain pills.

Now I just saw that one of his nails had split and there was some blood. I cleaned it with peroxide and put some other stuff that goes on cuts.

Do you think he will be ok? He doesnt seem to be in pain..Is there anything else I can do?Split nail?
im sure he will be fine ... i would maybe tape up the nail to it wont tear anymore and you can put soap on the tape to stop him from biting at it ... but other than that ... it happens!
