How do you stop your nails from splitting?

As the nail grows to the tip, the nail begins to shed a layer of nail. How do you stop your nails from splitting?
you have to stop picking at the layers and let them grow together. file the top most layer down to the next layer and let them grow and repeat until all the layers match. You could also buy a clear nail polish that help strengthen your nails. How do you stop your nails from splitting?
Diamond dust...

I use a nail polish by Avon that has real diamond ust in it.

Also keep the tips of your nails buff and even.

Also you want to use cuticle oil and rub into your cuticle outward to your nail every few days
On the contrary! Do not buff them frequently as this will cause the ';sealed'; end of your nails to ';re-open'; and therefore they'll be prone to splitting again. Buff them only when you cut them and then apply nail varnish which will help the nails to stay intact until ';sealed up';. Hope this makes sense. Also, diet plays a big part in the quality of your nails. Take vitamin E supplements, its also good for your hair and skin.

I get Solar nails and they are hard as rocks for weeks. I can't chew them, either.
Take gelalitin pills and fish oil supplements...
They say to eat Jello and to drink Jello water. It is supposed to help this a lot!!
Have you considered taking calcium? Rexall makes a gel cap calcium that seems to be absorbed by the system better than the hard tablets or caplets. Also Knox gelatin helps to strengthen your nails.
Drink Knox gelatin, more milk and take vitamins.

Do not use nail polish it eats your nails .

Eat more protein.

Good luck
nail buffer, buff often to keep away the ridges that form the split.
take a multi-vitamin pill every morning....it helps me
I sometimes get this problem too - very frustrating! Take a multi-vitamin once a day. This will give your nails the proper nutrients they need to stay strong. :)
