I get little splits on my thumbs just at the edge of my nail?

They are tiny little splits but they must go very deep because they are so painful! At night they wake me up because they are throbbing so much. i moisturise my hands does anyone know a cure?I get little splits on my thumbs just at the edge of my nail?
Try using Snowfire. It's for chapped skin and chilblains. My husband suffers with his hands, like you.Snowfire is in a little stick that you wind up like a lipstick, lasts for ages, but doesn't smell all that nice.Your chemist may have it in stock, or they may be able to order it, or see if you can order it on line.I've found a link for you.

Try putting baby oil in a little pot then put pot into container of hot water until warm. Place fingers in them %26amp;soak for at least 10 mins then pat dry with tissue (do not wash first). Massage in a good heavy night moisuriser concentrating on area that is cracked and go to bed. A few nights of this %26amp; you're problem will be cured. Alternatively see if your local college has a beauty school as their manicure specialist should be able to help.
i think they are called cuticles and i have had them before when younger...sorry i don't know the cure
I have very dry skin and my skin cracks open and bleeds around the edges of my nails if I don't keep them well moisturized. First, heal up any current cracks you have by putting some antibiotic ointment on it and covering with a band-aid. Once it has healed, you can prevent future cracks by applying vaselline or cocoa butter cream to your fingers at night and applying gloves. The gloves will keep the vaselline or cocoa butter from getting all over your bedding. It also keeps it from rubbing off. With the stuff coated on your hands during the night, much of it will be absorbed while you sleep. In the morning, your hands will be soft and supple. You can do this treatment three or four times a week. And during the day, apply moisturizing cream as much as possible! Hope this helps!
go to the doctors

but for now cover them up with a plaster or bandage so that dirt n germs dont go in which can cause more pain
