Go to the doctor.
The doctor will either use a medical grade glue to prevent the new growing nail to split or they will remove the nail completely so the new nail will grow out intact.

it may be. i smashed my ring finger in a door when I was 5. The nail- is still flat. it depends on the extent of the injury.
