I've got a finger nail that has been perpetually split. Could the cause be a fungus?

My nails otherwise appear healthy. As this particular nail grows out you can see exactly where it will split--and when it grows out far enough, without fail, it splits.I've got a finger nail that has been perpetually split. Could the cause be a fungus?
it sounds like afungus my big toe nail was like that you might want to try some of those over the counter meds but you have to do it religously cus if you dont the fungus could become immune and treat all your fingers because fungus can spread to all your fingers and if that wont work go see your doc cus you could loose a finger if it gets really badI've got a finger nail that has been perpetually split. * Nail polish remover causes split nails (onychoschizia).


* Trauma to the fingers contributes (to onychoschizia).
