my boyfriends foot was run over a few years ago and the nail on his big toe was split in half and healed that way. its infected and painful. he says he's had surgery to correct it, but the effects obviously wore off. how can he treat this? he's in pain and it leaks pus and blood on occasion.Big toe nail split in half is now infected has pus and growths around it?

Your boyfriend needs to see a Podiatrist as soon as he can to get this sorted out. If the nail is causing a problem because it moves on the toe (as it is split in half) then it can be removed in a procedure called a TNA (total nail avulsion) under a local. In the meantime, if it is exuding pus, then a saline footbath is required. My advice is seek help from a Podiatrist soon!
