Dog split her toe nail?

My dog split her toe nail into the pink part, it's not a big piece, but it still seems like it's hurting her. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?Dog split her toe nail?
Clip it as short as you can and rub some triple antibiotic on it. Keep it clipped short while it grows out so it doesn't snag. You can also try a bit of surgical tape to prevent snags but she may chew that off.Dog split her toe nail?
Did it bleed at all? The problem with foot injuries is that they can get infected because you can't really keep them clean. If you are really worried about it or her pain you can take her in to the vet. But first look at the wound. Clean it as best you can of any debris and if you can use some antiseptic or soap and water that will help. Wrap it in gauze and medical tape and try to keep her from ripping off the bandage. You need to try and keep it clean. Call a local emergency vet and ask if you can give some baby aspirin to help with pain. Then just keep an eye on it for a day or so and see if her pain or the wound worsen and then you should seek medical help.
My dad was cutting our cats nails and did the same thing. He took some clay and made a paste and put it on the nail.

Wash it with anti bacterial soap first.

He's an MD but not a vet.

Still calling the vet would be a good idea. There may be products specially designed for this kind of thing.
this happened to my dog last year after a couple of days the nail bed went septic, we took him to the vet who removed the nail, and told us just to bathe the paw in a salty warm water mix, and to tie a sock over it when he went outside
