Split nail in dog...?

Our rottweiler has a split nail and you can see the vein thing from the nail. The nail is split in two, 1 part on top 1 on bottom. Any ideas on what we can do until we get her to the vet tomorrow and does anyone know what they can do about it or how much something like this may cost? I applied neosporn and put a sock over it like it said to do on something I found online. She is in pain and we don't know what else we can do.Split nail in dog...?
The same thing happened to my doberman and we took her to the vet immediately. Get her to lay down and if she will let you try to numb it with ice in a paper towel or better wet a paper towel and freeze it and put it on the nail. If it is bleeding put flour on it (vets use flour to stop bleeding when they accidentally cut the nail to short) I would put some flour in a bowl and dip the nail in. When we took our dobie to the vet it cost $240 (crazy I know right) and what they do is they cut the nail very very short and bandage it up for about a week. And if she is still in pain try to get her to sleep and stay off her foot. I hope this advice has helped please email me and tell me what they did for her nail and how much it cost thanx, Kate.Split nail in dog...?
Emergency vets are open 24/7. If your dog is in pain why are you waiting until tomorrow. If my dog were in pain, I'd never leave her until Monday.

All vets charge different prices, but the longer you leave it, the worse it's going to get, and the more it's going to cost you.
Pet her and give her treats to clam her down. Tape it with medical or athletic tape, this will give it more support than a sock. Make sure its heaping with the neosporin and reapply it whenever possible. I would see if yo ucould get an emergency appointment with the vet.
that happened to our dog except not that badly.

you need to take teh sock off and wrap the paw in medical tape.

make sure the nail is not bleeding.

you shoudl really take the dog to the vet today!
My vet removed my ST. Bernards ripped nail for about $500. It required her being put under for surgery. Dogs can take low dose or baby aspirin for pain. But no advil, or tylenol.
