Split nails?

my nails have split right across the middle after removing gel nails, actually i had to remove them because one was so painful, i expected them to be a bit thin and fragile after but not to literally be falling off! anyone got any idea's? could they have a fungal infection? i have painted them with strengthener and top coats and it helps a little but if i do jobs which could catch them they rip right off..........oh dear have to leave the bed unmade for months :-)Split nails?
OPI! OPI! OPI! they do everything you need for perfect nails, nail envy will strengthen them, avoplex oil will nourish them and fungus fix will make sure you have no infections, it takes time to grow out damaged nails so be patient, keep them short for as long as you can bear using a high grit or glass nail file working from the outside to the middle on each side of your nail into a 'squoval shape' this is the strongest shape for your nails and fashionable too. If a local salon doesnt sell it then its available on internet.. i usually get mine off ebay!

Also a good little tip is when you do the dishes, cover your hands with olive oil and put your rubber gloves on, the hot water makes the oil sink into your hands for lovely soft skin and nourished nails.Split nails?
don't take this personally - it's your own fault!

fake nails are dangerous for your natural nails.

you should go and see a dermatologist. or at least a manicure with a medical diploma. they will tell you if it is a fungal infection and give you the right advice and anti-fungal meds if necessary.
See a doctor to ensure no infections/treat. Then dont use normal nail varnish. Use Nailtiques range (extremely good) esp No2 for your condition and allow nail bed to breath (dont paint to the top). Also use Solar Oil on whole nail and cuticals and use gloves for house work (fabric) and plastic gloves only for wet work and get it to a minimum. Supplements of eating lots of jelly helps supplement diet for healthy nail growth - DO NOT use false nails again - they are so damaging to nails underneath. I went and was strongly cautioned against them and its the top nail salon in London.
those fake nails soften your real ones.to strengthen them dip them in warm jelly mix.
My nails are in an awful state after cancer treatments.I just keep using nail strengtheners. As soon as it chips off, I remove it all and start again.I try and take calcium tablets when I remember too.
